M.A.C. Solutions is looking for a trainee support engineer who is passionate about advanced technology and is willing to learn on the job and wants to work in a very diverse environment. We are a Software Developer in Alarm Management. We also operate as a technical distributor and are the dominant UK reseller in Industrial IoT with a leadership position in OPC, Remote Access Routers,IoT Edge devices and Cyber Security.

Based in our Technical Distribution Centre in Redditch you will support the team in their day-to-day tasks taking care of the following:

  • Provide help line support to customers on OPC, Remote access VPN routers, Web hosted IoT Analytic Platforms and IP technologies
  • Diagnosing and reacting appropriately to support tickets
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on client’s systems
  • Maintaining good client relations and delivering excellent customer service 
  • Completing assigned tasks on time with minimal assistance from others
  • Communicating progress and problems and keeping the help system updated

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Good communicator face-to-face, telephone, written and email
  • Experience in Technical Support
  • Converse with non-technical clients on IT issues and convey meaning without jargon
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Able to manage and prioritise own tasks and help desk issues
  • Timely reporting of progress on help desk issues and escalation to second-line as required
  • Able to learn new skills, products and techniques and to adapt quickly.
  • Graduate standard or a relevant qualification
  • Self-motivated and strong drive to succeed
  • A natural team player with strong problem-solving skills
